Implant Dentistry
Why Implant Dentistry?
Implant dentistry is a wonderful option for people who are missing one, some, or all of their teeth. Implants are the closest to natural teeth and can allow you to have a natural looking smile and give you back your natural chewing function again. Do you have a denture and find that you need to limit the foods you eat? Implant supported teeth can make it so you can chew and smile again with confidence. There are multiple options that can fit into all budgets.
One of the things people don’t realize about implant dentistry is that it preserves the jaw bone. Over time, the bone in your upper and lower jaws begins to get absorbed back into the body and the architecture of your face begins to change. This is why it is good to get implant dentistry soon after you lose a tooth. If you have not had a tooth for some time, don’t worry. We can still help you get your smile back again!
Why We are Your Best Option
I started doing implants over 30 years ago, and we have come a long way in the technology we can use. I pioneered in using digital imaging for implant dentistry for over 15 years. We use the best technology possible to do this, including a digital imaging system of your mouth. This allows us to take a 3-dimensional scan of your teeth and jaw, and then digitally place the tooth into your mouth before we ever do the procedure. This allows us to have much greater accuracy and success when doing implants. Moreover, the implant will be a more natural and comfortable fit in your mouth.
As one of a very few dentists in the country who is university trained in both the placement of the implant and the crown or bridge there is no need to go between multiple offices for your treatment. We use the most up-to-date minimally invasive methods modern medicine has to offer. Often, we can implant your new tooth right through the gum without pain, swelling, or sutures. Furthermore, we do it in an atmosphere of comfort for you, our patient.
How We Think of Implant Dentistry
Rather than looking at an implant as an isolated procedure, I think of an implant as an addition to the ecosystem of your mouth. One exciting new development is that I can perform the procedure virtually beforehand, so I can be more certain that the implant is positioned and restored in the most optimal manner. I have extensive training in implants, so I can do the entire procedure in my office. You will not need to bounce around between different doctors to finish the procedure. In the rare occasions when extensive bone reconstruction is needed, I will work closely with my reconstructive surgeon to assure the best outcome is achieved.
After the implant dentistry is completed, you will be ready for restorative dentistry. Our restorative dentistry will bring your teeth back to their original shape, color, and good looks.
